School Sing-a-long

How fun! I love Kaden's school. They are having a big sing-a-long for the holiday's tomorrow morning but the afternoon kindergarten class wouldn't be able to sing so the principal had a mini sing-a-long and Kaden got to perform. I loved it. They did so good. Kaden in on the top row in the middle wearing a Santa hat. Go Kaden!

They have this tradition out here in Eagle Mountain called Santa on a firetruck. Cute idea, right? I always thought it was, but then it happened. They tell you on the flyer that it's from 8am till done. What does that mean? Well, the first year we were here it came at 8:04am and we missed it, the kids were sad and I felt bad. The next year they came around 9am so we saw that. This year, the kids waited all morning and didn't want to go to the store cause they were waiting for "Santa" . When Santa finally came, around 11:30am, the firetruck was practically speeding through our neighborhood. Santa didn't even wave at the kids, he just threw some candy and sped away. Is this tradition getting better or worse as the years go on? You tell me. My Mother-in-law told me her son waited 4 hours outside for Santa. It was cold that day!

Disneyland Vacation

Ok, Disneyland was amazing! That's all I have to say...

This vacation would not have been possible without my awesome parents. Thanks mom and dad! We went for a whole week in October and the weather was great, the rides were fun (as always), and I got to watch my children have the time of there lives. I love Disneyland! It really is magical! Michael and I acted just like kids along with our kids.

Emma and Sarah's Royal Princess Party!

Ok, my life is complete. Now I know why I love having a little girl. This was so cute. Emma and her cousin Sarah, who are the same age, went together. It was really nice of Mary to get Sarah all ready and looking cute. She is almost done with her pregnancy, about a week and a half I think left, and she hasn't been feeling too great.

Grammy came and we walked around with them while they made there own wands, played princess games, listened to story time and got a picture with Cinderella, and danced with Belle. This was actually a fundraiser for our Stake "Hearts for the Holiday's" Every year our stake gives families that are having a hard time an opportunity to still have a good Christmas. The price to get in was a bag of diapers or wipes per princess. So cute huh? I just couldn't resist.

Kaden's First Day of Kindergarten.... CRY!!!!

Oh, boy! I have been waiting for this for the past 5 1/2 years and now I can't stop it from coming. Kaden couldn't be happier. Me, I miss my boy!

Some people, mainly my sister, think that I am overreacting and being silly about this whole thing and I should be soooo excited to see him leave. I'm sorry, guess I'm not normal.

When he ran into that classroom I could just feel his innocence, childlike, personality melt away leaving room for classmates, teachers and bullies to fill up. I am no longer there to protect, provide and nurture him. I know, I know, Krista it is only 3 hours a day. But still, it's just the beginning.

On a happier note, he is very excited and so I am for him. He is so smart and fun that I am sure he will be just fine. He is going to the new elementary school that was just built in Eagle Mountain and I couldn't be happier about that. The other school I have heard soo many negative things that I don't think I could have let him go. His teacher is awesome, he knows a lot of kids in his class so I am happy.

I am so glad to be a mother! I think it is THE most important job that anybody, every, could do. When I look around and see those that want to choose other things then to do what they were born to do. It breaks my heart.

We are all different mothers. We all have different roles that we need to play in our lives. Some are single moms, some working moms, sometimes your kids drive you so crazy you wish you weren't the mom. We are all different, but we are all the same in our Heavenly Father's eyes and He gave us this huge responsibility that I hope we never take lightly.

Those that rock the cradle, rule the world. I love that quote because it is so true. You as a mother can do so much for our human race. Please know that you are important, your work does matter. And don't let Satan or his helpers make you think any different.

I threw I baby shower for my sister-in-law, Erinn Williams. This is her first baby and she is having a girl! I am so excited for her. Here are some great pictures. It was really cool because all of Erinn's sisters were able to make it, even from Califonia, and only one of the sister in law's wasn't there. Chloe, we missed you!

WOW!!!! I had such a good time with the girls in my ward, Cindy, and my sister Trisha. We went to dinner together, YUMMY, then on to the movie. I have to say that I enjoyed this one the best so far. Edward was much better at acting then the others and the newborns were awesome. Emmett was so funny and I really enjoyed them telling about Rosalie and Jasper's stories.

The wolves, of course, were awesome!

I can't believe they are making me wait a whole year for the next one. Until then, TWILIGHT BABY!

Emma's 3rd Birthday Party

Emma was born on April 14 2007. She weighed 7 Lbs 2 oz and 19 inches long. She was a princess from the time she set foot in this world. We love her so much and am so glad she is apart of this family.
She wanted to have a ballerina party so that's what we did. Her cousins came, along with Grammy, Papa and Papa B, aunt Trisha, Aunt Mary and Uncle Jimmy were also present. Not to mention her Aunt Ellie, Maddie, Uncle Jonathan, and Andrew. There are so many other people that couldn't make it that love Emma so much and you were in our thoughts.
Trisha did a little ballet class, then we played "Pin the Tutu on the Ballerina" and had cake and ice cream. She did real good on her presents this year. We all had a great time.

Day Out With the Ladies

My sister and I went with our cousins, Meredith and Doris, to Brick Oven in Provo a couple of weeks ago. I had so much fun with the girls. I have been missing just girl time. I had to bring Cameron of course but my other cousin, Forest, watched my other two kids so I was in heaven. The food was good and the company was wonderful. Thanks girls! We need to do this again soon.
Hopefully Forest will get that job there so we can get a family discount!

We had a great Easter this year! The kids loved there baskets and best of all we got to have general conference right on Easter Sunday! I love this church and our wonderful prophets and apostles. The church is true, it's awesome, and I am so glad to be apart of it.

While My Husband is at School...

I have become a avid reader ever since my husband works 60 hours a week and goes to school the rest of the time. Not that I'm complaining. I am very thankful he has a good job and is getting his MBA. It just leaves me at home a lot on my own with my children. So when my kids go to sleep... what do I do?
I read.
Lately, I have been reading Fablehaven. I am really liking it. I think my next book will be the new "Women Power" one by President Ukdorf (cant remember the real name of the book)

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a break from the day to day life.
I have never read a fantasy before but this one has lots of twists and turns in it to make it exciting.

Potty Training My Emma

Ok so we stared potty training Emma in the end of January. She has had her ups and downs but nothing too horrible. Except.... she would NOT poop in the potty. I tried practising with her, having her wash her own panties out, I would give her time outs, I would tell her she could have 5 star burst!!!! Emma loves Barbie's and doesn't have one yet. I got a barbie that I have had since I was a little girl still in the box. Sleeping Beauty Barbie! I told her she could have it if she went in the big girl potty.

Today is a NEW DAY!!!!!

I love this time of year. A little busy, a little crazy, but it's the happiest time of the year. I am so thankful for all my friends and family that love and support us in our lives.
I am so blessed to know that God did send His son for us. I bear testimony that He lives, He loves me and He LOVES you! He was a baby in a manager and grew to be a king, a shepherd, our Savior! I love him!

So I was a full week late. It was worth the wait, he is so beautiful, handsome, stunning and every thing we could have hoped for.
I started feeling contractions on the Friday before and they continued until Tuesday. Didn't know my body could do that but I was very wrong. I even went to the hospital on Monday and I was dilated to a 1! They sent me home! I never wanted that to happen and it did. oh, well, life goes on.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me and my family in this new stage of our lives. We have been brought meals, people have watched my kids and people have come and stayed the whole day with me so I could get a nap in during the day.
I really need to tell my husband THANK YOU!!! He took a week off work and was Mr. Mom and did a better job then I do. I love you more then I can express. You are my world and I love being apart of yours.

I know that I am a grown women with many responsablities and projects for me to do. Sometimes, don't you just wish that your mom was right there with you, holding your hand, encouraging you, and always telling you your doing a great job.
Today is one of those days for me.
I love my mom and my mother in law so much!
My mom right now is in Arizona visiting her sister and I am so glad she is but I just wanted to let my mom know I love her and miss her and want to be like her.
My mother in law is the same way, so loving and kind.
Today is one of those days where it would be nice to have mommy holding my hand and telling me that I'm doing a good job.
I hope that I can be their for my children when they have "mommy days" like my mom is for me.

Mathew and Chloe's New Baby!!!

My brother-in-law and wife had their first baby. Her name is Aspyn and she is soooo cute. I have 5 weeks to go before my baby Cameron comes and seeing her was almost to much. I want a baby sooo bad now. She has tons of hair and the cutest body you have ever seen. We went up to the hospital on Father's day to give our congrats to the happy family. Teaching Emma to be a little lady...

I always thought that "my girl" was going to be polite, proper, a little lady. Emma likes all the girl stuff don't get me wrong, but that's only second to her favorite thing to do when mommy isn't watching...

It's true. She LOVES to play in dirt and mud. She even eats it! We are working REALLY hard on not eating it. She's getting a little better.

I have to face the truth.... my girl is just like I was when I was little. I thought I could escape that but I guess it's in the gene's.

Emma was daddy's big helper that morning. She really enjoyed getting in the dirt and getting it everywhere and mommy not getting mad at her for doing it.

The garden is doing well except for a few minor setbacks. This is definitely a learning experience for our family. We will be really excited if we get to eat anything out of our garden.

Father and Sons Campout

Michael and Kaden had a fathers and sons camp out a few weeks back. Kaden thinks this is the best thing ever, even better then Christmas. The day of he would ask me every 10 minutes if it was time to go with Dad. I am not exaggerating either. He was even more excited cause he got to go with Papa and Andrew! Could life get any better? NO!!!
When they got back they were soooo dirty that the dirt was caked on Kadens face I had to scrub hard to get it all off. Oh, well, I am so glad Michael can do this with Kaden.

Her theme was Winnie the Pooh. She loved everything about it. She had her friends the Wright girls come over and she had Grammie, Papa, and her aunts and uncle's, who she just adores, come too. It was perfect! We ate peanut butter and honey sandwiches, Rabbits veggie tray, Tiger's teddy grahams and cake. We played her favorite game "See me run" and then played Pooh's honey pot. I think she had a great time. It was her special day.

Kaden is such a great brother. Emma really wanted to have a tea party with Kaden and he went along with it and had a good time. I love watching the difference between boys and girls, it's so special to witness it through your children. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing and I love that he did. Both genders have such amazing qualities about them that is unique and makes them special. I am so thankful that I have a boy and a girl in my life.

Family Home Evening gardening

We have NEVER planted anything before but hey, why not start now... We are going to TRY to have a garden this year and thought we should involve our kids. Here we are planting tomato seeds to grow in the house for a while. I have no clue when we should plant them but we have a bunch of people from our ward that is helping us out.

So last valentines I begged Michael to take me dancing. In another life I use to love it and was kind of good at it. In all the years we have been married we have never gone dancing. My sister, Trisha, was teaching a free ballroom class so I jumped at the chance. Thanks Trisha!
Michael ended up having a great time with me. My mom and dad came and also my older brother Phil and wife Lisa. We learned the Waltz and Cha Cha. It was great!

WHAT A WEEK!!!!

Hello everyone! I hope all is well and getting ready for some warmer weather. I haven't been doing much lately so I haven't felt a need to post anything. But I thought I would post a little about my week so those that feel they are having it rough they can think... "At least I'm not Krista." JK
It wasn't that bad just annoying most of the time.
So it all goes back to last Saturday. Michael stayed home from work to be with the family so we decided to have a fun night going to dinner and going swimming. We get in the car and... it won't start.
The battery died in our van but we weren't going to let that get in the way. We put the car seats in Michael's car and off we went. We had a wonderful time and it made me realize that we don't spend enough time together as a family. So we're going to work on that.

We get home and I try to find my cell phone....
Can't find it!!!!!
All my contacts... everything! I looked everywhere! For 3 days I didn't have a phone.
Luckily, my sister in law had a extra phone that she was willing to let me have. Thanks Rebecca!

Then today Michael goes off to work with a kiss goodbye. After 10 minutes he calls and says he got in a accident...No, this isn't his car. I just got it off the internet to illustrate my story. Neat huh? But he did say that it's pretty bad.
All and all, not the best week for the Nielson family. But hey, it could be worse.... knock on wood...

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

We asked for it and we got it. We got our ultrasound done and it's a boy! We are so excited, especially Kaden. He wanted a baby brother so bad so he could have a bunk beds. I keep telling him the baby is going to have to sleep in a crib for a while but I guess he'll figure it out sooner or later. I'll try to put ultrasound pictures up as soon as I figure out how to do it.
Bad news though, they moved my date back 14 days! Now my due date is July 28th

So this morning Michael is shaving his face when Emma wake's up and wants to see "daddy" I take her to see him and she watches him shave. Then she takes my hand and guides me out of the bedroom, I'm thinking to go down the stairs for breakfast, but she takes me into the kids bathroom where Kaden has a toy shaver and wants to shave her face. Just Like Daddy!!!

His Fever Broke!!!!!

I think he is on the mend. His fever broke late Friday night. I am so excited to see some improvement, it's been a long week. Thanks for all your prayers and love. I wish I would have known this before, I didn't know that you can give Tylenol and Ibuprofen together. Every 4 hours you can switch them off. I just thought I would pass that along cause it would have saved me a few nights sleep. I'm sure you all knew that already, but just in case I can save some else's kid from going through what Kaden did, I hope I can help.

My Kaden is so sick. Yesterday I took him to the doctor because he had a temperature of 102 to 103 and a stomach ache since Sunday and they tested him for strep throat. It was negative. Then they tested him for pneumonia. It was negative too. So now it's the waiting game, what is it, I have no clue. But nothing has changed. At the doctors they took his temperature of 104.6
If you believe in God or a higher being, please pray for my son. He is so sick and needs your prayers. I know it would help. I just need to trust that God has a plan and he will get better soon. I will do better with my posts when everything in my house is back to normal. I hope everyone in your homes are safe and healthy.

The NEED for chocolate milk

Ok, so I don't remember getting very many cravings with my first two children but oh, my, am I craving chocolate milk. The other night Michael, the kids, and I were at Smith's shopping when I kind of wanted some chocolate milk. I got a small premixed one and from then on I NEED it. Just three days ago I wanted some so bad I tried to make it out of hot chocolate mix. It DIDN'T WORK! I texted my friend and she ran me over some Nesquik. Thanks Dede! Your a lifesaver. It was 10:40pm at night and for those of you that know me very well you might know that it is against all my upbringing to call ANYONE after 9pm unless you are bleeding, on the floor, dying. Just ask my husband. So I have come to accept the fact that I am a crazy pregnant lady and I crave chocolate milk. Have a great day!

Michael and I got to go to the Nutcracker ballet with our wonderful friends Mike and Dede Wright. It was so much fun. We weren't allowed to take pictures so I got some off the Internet. I haven't been to a ballet in so many years. It was enchanting! I just loved it. It really put me in the holiday spirit.
This year has been hard for me to get into the spirit of the season. I don't know why? Maybe because I'm so sick all the time with being pregnant, or maybe because of the economy we are not spending very much money so Christmas won't really be the same this year.
But this weekend, with going to the Nutcracker and attending our ward Christmas party, I am feeling better. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and feel the joy Christmas brings into each of our life's.

Due to the warmer weather we are having Michael & Kaden were able to till our garden. Now what? I don't know a thing about gardening but hey, we are going to try. Here's some pictures of the yard finished too since I didn't get to post those.

Michael and Jonathon worked night and day on the basement for so long and now.... it is finished. Cris put up with her house being torn apart, two grumpy men working in her basement and much more I am sure. Congratulation to all how put effort and work into the project.
To have a little fun I set up a ribbon ceremony. Here are some pictures...

Halloween!

I enjoy Halloween. Maybe it's because I like chocolate so much or that when I was a child I had wonderful memories going trick or treating. I don't know why, but I think it's one of my favorite holiday's. Anyways, one of the things I love to do is carve pumpkins.

These were the best pumpkins Smiths had to offer (I would know, we looked at almost every single one of them)

This year Kaden got into it and even put his hand in the pumpkin. Emma is still too much of a "princess" too get her hands dirty.

Halloween day is pretty fun too. My parents came down to see there grandkids go trick or treating. I enjoyed that, and it was Michael's first time with the kids on Halloween.

We had so much fun at Kaden's Cowboy and Indian birthday party. Cousins, Grandma's and Grandpa's, aunt and uncle's were all apart of this wonderful time. I had to drop a tear or two knowing that my "little man" is growing up. Here are some pictures to recap...

Women's Conference

I had the most amazing opportunity to go to Women's Conference with some very sweet women. Special shout-out to my mother for tending my children for six hours while I went. Thanks Mom! I couldn't have done it without your help. Also, thanks to Rachael for inviting me. It was my first time and I didn't even know what it was, but now I will never forget it. The opening speaking was Sheri Dew. Her talk was "Awake, Arise, and Come unto Christ" Some of the things that I took from her talk were that women truly are the influence of the world. We are Heavenly Father "secret weapon" we are the heart of the Father's plan. If the women of the world fall the human race falls. We cannot fail our family, our neighborhoods, our society, our countries. Everyday in our lives as women we need to talk, walk, rejoice in Christ and have our action reflect that. She said that as members of the LDS church we need to be the women that are strong enough to choose holiness above the world. The thing that I think I needed to hear the most was that I need to take time for personal worship. She made a statement "you can't draw water from an empty well" and that is so true. If we are truly to be the key to our Heavenly Fathers plan then we need to have "water" to let our families draw from. I am going to make the time to do that. I know Christ lives and loves me and I am so grateful for that knowledge; it makes life worth living. I am truly happy with that knowledge in my life. If you ever get a chance to go to Women's Conference GO!!! It will be the best thing you can do with your time. Thanks!

Dinosaur Time

We have a dinosaur museum close to our house and just love to go. We went with my parents and Derek and Trisha's family. We had so much fun looking and interacting with all the exhibits.

There were lots of very interesting dinosaur's but
T-Rex is always a favorite.

She made it! One years old! I still can't believe she is already one. Sometimes you have to take a step back to cherish each day because you can't live it again. On April 14, 2008 we had a little party for her. Grandma and Grandpa B came, along with Derek & Trisha's family. Grammy & Grandpa couldn't come. Grammy had 2 surgeries :( (We missed them)!

Michael's Backyard Project

He's at it again. My husband doesn't quit working on projects (which I am grateful for) this latest one is the backyard. It was A LOT of work but we should have a nice yard in 2 months. I got a few pictures of Kaden and him working on the garden area. He also put the sprinklers in, moved 31 tons of topsoil, leveled it, and planted the seed. What a job! I am so proud of him. The best part was watching him work with Kaden. Kaden LOVES to work with Dad! These are the before pictures. The after shots will come soon.

Emma is 11 month's old and she usually takes one step then goes back to crawling. Today is the first day she has taken more then two steps. We are so proud of our little princess!

Michael is almost done with the framing. The next step is electrical and "all that stuff" he tells me.

As you probably already know, Michael LOVES projects. This latest one is kind of neat and fun. He is working on finishing Randy and Cris's basement (Mom and Dad Nielson) I am going to be taking pictures of the progress but I was so proud of him...

He made these layouts of what he wanted to do and I thought you would like to see them.

Michael Graduated with his Bachelor's in Business Management (I am so proud of him) so we decided to take a trip to Cancun, Mexico with my parents Wayne and Shauna Braunberger and my little brother Alex as a little get away.
